Location: Ballycommon
The area of Ballycommon on the Grand Canal is a peaceful place that is full of colour. At FilmOffaly we think this could be just the place to shoot a film if you require a sleepy unspoiled setting with a lot of character.

Ballycommon is 100 km from Co.Dublin, 6 km from the town of Tullamore and 18 km from M6 Tullamore exit.
The area is home to some stunning wildlife such as mallard, heron and other wild birds. Ballycommon has a public house, self catering accommodation, a marina, fishing areas, locks, bridges and walk ways that are all close to each other.
It also features an abandoned stretch of canal called ‘the Kilbeggan Branch’. There is still some water in this area of the canal and tall trees and plant life have taken over the 12 km long abandoned stretch.
With next to no sound from traffic, little can be heard out here apart from the birds and the natural sounds of the area, which makes audio recording a breeze.
